What’s New?
Like a lot of people, you want to help those who are homeless. It’s hard to know the right way to do it; how to truly help in a positive way. At Abundant Grace, we use the platform of our employment programming to work with people on five main goals: Employment, Housing, Sobriety, Health and Well-Being, and Food Security.
We have a host of resources onsite at our workforce center: showers, laundry, mailing address, clothing, food and more. The important work that happens on top of that is done by staff who engage people to create goals, identify resources and obstacles, and make a plan to get there. The highlight of our work is that we get to accompany them and support their work to transform their lives.
We collaborate with Coast House Shelter, Coastside Hope, and Pacifica Resource Center for case management services, and we host the county Street Medical Team so people can address health concerns.
If you want to help the homeless, donating to Abundant Grace for Giving Tuesday and throughout the holiday season really makes a difference!
Building character, learning skills, experiencing teamwork:
At the farm, we train people to develop skills to use in any employment setting. We challenge people with new responsibilities, create situations for healthy socializing, and celebrate personal growth. And all the food is shared with low-income families.
Benefiting the environment and serving the community:
Neighbors come out of their homes to yell, “Thank you!” to the Coastside Clean Team as they pass by. It’s a great feeling. The experience of doing good for the larger community creates connection and helps a person alienated by homelessness feel like they are a contributing member of the community with value, worth and dignity. What a great thing to support!
About Us
Our Vision
Abundant Grace Coastside Worker envisions a day when all of our neighbors experiencing homelessness are housed, employed if possible, and in good mental and physical health as they pursue their own meaningful life
Our Mission
Our mission is to accompany the unhoused as they transform their lives through meaningful work.
Our 5 Goals:
Housing, Employment, Sobriety, Mental and Physical Health, Food Security
Full Circle
Food Justice
Full Circle Food Justice – Our signature program is a partnership with Potrero Nuevo Farm, south of Half Moon Bay. Each week, we bring individuals experiencing homelessness to the Farm where they can participate in three different projects:
• Farm Work Days
• Farm Apprenticeship
• Conservation Crew
Coastside
Clean Team
We engage people experiencing homelessness to clean the beaches and coastal trails thanks to a contract with the City of Half Moon Bay. We also work with the homeless community to identify and clean abandoned encampments. We pick up an astounding 140,000 pounds of trash annually! It’s a great program for the city, our neighbors and the homeless community.
Workforce Development Center
The WDC is the hub of all our services and of homelessness services in the area, and we intentionally craft a space that is inviting, inclusive and supportive. It offers a wide range of resources including access to the kitchen, showers, laundry, food, clothing room, laptops and WiFi access, limited storage and mail service, personal care items, bicycle repair…
Our Newsletter
Abundant Grace transforms lives through our job-readiness programming: taking people experiencing homelessness to grow and harvest over 15,000 pounds of fresh, organic produce for free distribution to low-income families at our Full Circle Food Justice Program; and to clean up the environment on the beaches and trails of Half Moon Bay on the Coastside Clean Team. We are doing good, meaningful work together; we are making a difference in our community; we are transforming our very selves. Please be a part of this unique project. Make common cause with us. We can't do it alone - we need your participation and support.
